Plot

A young boy steps off a bus in a small Georgia town in 1945, haunted by the memory of his mother’s abduction and murder. Misunderstood, he remains silent, leading the townsfolk to believe he is deaf and mute. Embracing his newfound anonymity, he chooses to listen intently to their conversations.
