Plot

Bruno Felkin, a ruthless gangster, murders a rival in San Francisco but attempts to cover his tracks by reporting the crime to Homicide Lt. Kelsey, a plan that quickly unravels. Seeking refuge, Bruno sneaks aboard a fishing vessel where captain Hamil Linder shows him the ropes of fishing. As Bruno integrates into their lives, he recruits Hamil's rebellious son, Carl, to manage his slot machines. Tensions rise when Carl becomes enamored with Bruno’s girlfriend, Connie, culminating in a dramatic showdown during a fierce storm at sea.
