Allie, a recently out teenager, grapples with her identity while concealing her girlfriend from her traditional Chinese American family. During the Hungry Ghost Festival, she encounters the spirit of Maxine, a long-lost relative who navigated her own queer identity decades earlier. Despite the generational gap, the two bond over their shared experiences of seeking acceptance and understanding within their families.
