Plot

In "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," Texas border patrol officer Mike Norton mistakenly shoots and buries Pete Perkins' close friend and ranch hand, Melquiades Estrada. Devastated by the loss and driven by a promise to honor his friend, Pete decides to take matters into his own hands. He apprehends Norton, digs up Estrada's remains, and embarks on a surreal journey on horseback towards Mexico, determined to return Melquiades to his hometown.
