From the moment I witnessed 'Swan Lake' at six, ballet captured my heart. 'The Sleeping Beauty,' alongside Tchaikovsky's other masterpieces like 'Swan Lake' and 'The Nutcracker,' holds a revered spot in the ballet canon. While it may sound cliché, its timeless narrative, unforgettable characters, and Tchaikovsky’s brilliant score truly earn this distinction. Once this rendition of 'The Sleeping Beauty' is released on DVD, I believe it will stand out as one of the finest interpretations. It’s certainly one of my top favorites, ranking among the best Royal Opera House Live Cinema productions. After the disappointment of 'Il Trovatore,' this enchanting production is a breath of fresh air, likely to captivate even the harshest critics. Visually stunning, it features lavish costumes and fairy-tale-like settings that perfectly embody the essence of 'The Sleeping Beauty.'
