Mardock Scramble: The First Compression (2010)

Plot

Rune Ballot, a struggling teen prostitute in the gritty Mardock City, finds herself entangled with Shell, an ambitious casino manager who seems to offer her a fresh start. Showered with luxury and a fabricated sense of innocence, she feels a mix of gratitude and suspicion toward Shell’s motives. Driven by curiosity, Rune investigates his past, unwittingly setting off a chain of events that will alter her fate. When Shell discovers her probing, he resorts to violence, attempting to eliminate her by blowing up her car, pushing her into a fight for survival.
