The Night Has Eyes (1942)

Plot

On the windswept Yorkshire moors, teachers Doris and Marian return to search for their missing friend Evelyn a year after her mysterious disappearance. During a fierce storm, they find shelter in the remote cottage of Stephen, a traumatized former pianist from the Spanish Civil War. While the tempest drives Doris to leave at the first opportunity, Marian grapples with her suspicions about Evelyn's fate and her burgeoning feelings for Stephen. Torn between love and loyalty, she chooses to remain amidst the eerie landscape, where secrets linger in the mist.
