Plot

A disillusioned ex-Union Army officer eyes a move east with his fiancée after accepting a low offer from the crippled owner of Anchor Ranch. However, the ranch's heavy-handed tactics and the murder of one of his workers spur him to take a stand. Drawing on his military background, he prepares to confront the corruption surrounding him. Meanwhile, tensions simmer at Anchor as the owner’s wife engages in an affair with his brother, who also has a romantic entanglement with a local Mexican woman, complicating an already volatile situation.
