Plot

Bluto and Popeye embark on a whirlwind race around the globe, featuring airplanes instead of balloons, despite the title. Bluto zooms ahead in a high-tech rocket plane, while Popeye struggles with an outdated prop model that requires manual ignition. After a rough start, where Bluto tangles Popeye in his propeller, Olive helps him back into the air just in time. Bluto makes a pit stop at the Eiffel Tower to charm a lady, but with a little help from a lightning bolt, Popeye overtakes him. After Bluto sabotages his engine, Popeye uses spinach and a giant magnet to rebuild his plane and ultimately secures victory.
