Plot

Derek Jarman captures the essence of American author William S. Burroughs in this 1983 film, filmed during Burroughs' inaugural trip to England for the iconic Final Academy events at South London’s Ritzy Cinema, curated by Psychic TV. The documentary features Burroughs engaging with fans on Tottenham Court Road and making a stop in a shop for alcohol. An industrial score by Psychic TV includes a haunting sample of Burroughs’ voice. Notably, additional footage shot during the visit was confiscated by Scotland Yard in 1991 and remains missing. Jarman continued his collaboration with Psychic TV in subsequent projects.
