Plot

Trevor Graham, an Australian aficionado of hummus, delights in the weekly ritual of crafting this Middle Eastern staple at his Bondi Beach home. However, when the Hummus War ignited in 2008, pitting Israel, Lebanon, and Palestine against each other, Graham sought to explore its deeper implications. This quirky documentary humorously celebrates the beloved chickpea dish while weaving in Graham’s personal narrative—his father's service in Palestine during WWII and his relationships with a Syrian and a Jewish partner, both of whom shared his culinary enthusiasm. Through humor and heart, the film explores the unifying power of food.
