Plot

Veteran Warner and the elderly gardener Burns compete for the affections of Widow Simpson, leading to a comical rivalry. In a clever move, Burns steals Warner's uniform and sneaks into a parade, all while being chased by his determined opponent. The film features actual footage from a Thomas Ince battle scene filmed at Inceville, alongside the Grand Army of the Republic parade that took place in downtown Los Angeles at 9:30 AM PST on September 11, 1912. It captures the excitement starting at 5th and Los Angeles, concluding near the Courthouse at Broadway and Temple, along with other G.A.R. events at the National Soldiers' Home in Sawtelle.
