Plot

Rookie cop Boomer struggles with the harsh realities of policing in downtown Chicago, especially after a drug bust leads to the death of his mentor, Carlos. Disheartened by the brutality of his job, he resigns and sets off for his hometown of Joliet to reunite with his fiancée, Kelly. However, his journey takes a dark turn when he stops to help a stranded motorist. This seemingly kind act results in a violent ambush, leaving Boomer unconscious. Upon waking, he discovers his car and wallet are gone, thrusting him into a perilous situation of mistaken identity.
