Plot

Yusef, a Pakistani engineering student, leaves campus life behind to share a house in Buffalo, New York, with a vibrant group of Muslim punks. They introduce him to Taqwacore, a unique fusion of hardcore punk and Islamic culture thriving on the West Coast. As the seasons pass, the house transforms, doubling as a mosque by day and a punk venue by night. Immersed in this dynamic environment, Yusef begins to question his own beliefs and faith. 'The Taqwacores' explores the intricate struggles of navigating youth and Muslim identity in contemporary America.
