On August 24, 1944, Paris hangs in the balance as General von Choltitz is poised to carry out Hitler's directive to demolish the city. As the general readies explosives to obliterate the French capital, Swedish consul Raoul Nordling steps in, attempting to sway him through diplomacy. With time running out, Nordling's urgent negotiations unfold in a gripping battle of wills, aiming to persuade the general to abandon his destructive mission and preserve the city’s rich heritage from imminent doom.
