Nosema (2021)

Plot

Nosema explores themes of death disguised as rebirth, centering on the Diril couple before their tragic disappearance. Hürmüz and Şimuni, residents of Meer—one of Turkey's few remaining Chaldean Catholic villages—have faced the devastation of their home eight times due to ongoing armed conflict. In October 2019, they joyfully reunited with their children, unaware it would be their final gathering. Months later, tragedy struck when Şimuni’s body was found, while Hürmüz remains unaccounted for, leaving a haunting void in the lives of their family and community.
