Plot

Pinkerton weds Cho-Cho San in Japan during his shore leave. After he departs, she preserves their home exactly as he left it. Three years later, he returns, having remarried in America, and informs Cho-Cho that their relationship has ended. In the meantime, she has given birth to their child, whom she sends to her family. Heartbroken, she ultimately takes her own life.
