Plot

Dennis Barlow, a newcomer from England, is tasked with planning his uncle's funeral at the lavish Whispering Glades, a highly profitable establishment. Amid the chaos, he becomes enamored with Aimee Thanatogenos, one of the funeral home’s cosmeticians. However, Dennis faces significant hurdles: the stringent regulations enforced by the owner, Reverend Glenworthy, competition from the ambitious embalmer, Mr. Joyboy, and the embarrassment of his own job at The Happy Hunting Ground, a memorial service for pets. As he navigates this bizarre world, Dennis learns about love, loss, and the peculiarities of life and death.
