Plot

Jeff Key, a thirty-four-year-old gay man, joins the Marines to pursue a lifelong dream. Following the events of 9/11, he finds himself deployed to Iraq, where he chooses not to disclose his sexuality to escape service. Upon returning home, disillusioned and traumatized by his experiences, Key channels his journey into a compelling one-man play. SEMPER FI artfully weaves together interviews, personal footage from Iraq, and scenes from his performance, capturing the complexities of his identity and the resilience of a gay American serving in wartime.
