Set in 65 AD, the height of Emperor Nero's oppressive rule, the atmosphere in Rome is charged with dissent as conspiracies mount against him. Nero, consumed by his own excesses, fights to maintain his reign. Amidst this turmoil stands Seneca, a revered philosopher and Nero’s former mentor, who played a pivotal role in the emperor's rise. However, as Nero grows increasingly paranoid, he turns against Seneca, using a thwarted assassination attempt as a pretext to label him a conspirator, unraveling their once-close relationship and placing Seneca’s life in grave danger.
