Plot

Alma and Alex, two teenage sisters, navigate life in the woods after a devastating calamity. Their overbearing mother strives to protect them from the eerie Shadows that roam openly in the world beyond the river—a boundary they have always been warned not to cross. When curiosity leads them to follow their mother on a hunting trip, the sisters unwittingly set off a chain of events that unravels the mysteries surrounding the Shadows and forces them to confront the harsh truths about their existence and the world they inhabit.
