Plot
Set in 1943 near Wellington, U.S. Marines find themselves embroiled in a deadly conspiracy following the murder of one of their own. The crime is linked to the Hotel Workers Union, led by a corrupt boss who thrives on black market dealings while avoiding military duty. The victim's fiancée, Rose, along with other women exploited by the union, barter sexual favors for information. Assigned to solve the murder, a marine seeks Rose through a public health nurse tracking VD cases, only to uncover a deeper web of corruption involving the Union, government, and military forces.
