Plot

Set in the late 1880s, Colonel Carrington is tasked with establishing a series of forts in Sioux territory, enlisting former cavalry scouts Jim Bridger and "Dakota Jack" Gaines for the mission. Both men share a bond with Sioux chief Red Cloud and believe a peaceful treaty is achievable. However, tensions rise when Gaines, inebriated, attempts to coerce the Sioux into compliance. Chief Red Fox retaliates with a warning of war should the military encroach on their land. As the stakes escalate, the fate of peace hangs delicately in the balance.
