Plot

Set in the late 1980s, South Africa teeters on the brink of upheaval as President P.W. Botha clings to power amidst a fierce uprising led by the African National Congress (ANC). A British mining company, seeking stability for its interests, sends Michael Young to initiate discreet talks between the opposing factions. Teaming up with ANC leader Thabo Mbeki and Afrikaner professor Willie Esterhuyse, Young faces daunting challenges. Their unexpected collaboration and shared understanding become the key to fostering dialogue, demonstrating that empathy can triumph over violence in the quest for peace.
