Plot

In 1961 East Berlin, shortly after the Berlin Wall's construction, friends Konrad and Sophie embark on a perilous journey to escape to West Germany. They succeed, but Konrad is left behind. For 28 years, they strive to reunite despite the oppressive Iron Curtain. Now a renowned astrophysicist, Konrad leverages international conferences to connect with Sophie, all while navigating the watchful eyes of the Stasi. The struggle to maintain personal freedom, integrity, and hope intensifies as the Eastern Bloc begins to crumble, posing constant challenges to their enduring love.
