Plot
In the early 1950s, an unlikely bond forms between two men in a secluded sanatorium for tuberculosis patients. Josef Heiliger, an officer in the People's Police, and Hubertus Koschenz, a young Protestant curate, find themselves sharing a room due to their illness. Their drastically different backgrounds and beliefs create tension, as their only shared experience is their fight against consumption. As time passes, they begin to confront their differences and discover an unexpected connection that challenges their perspectives on life, faith, and friendship.
