Table for Five (1983)

Plot

J.P. Tannen, portrayed by Jon Voight, seeks redemption as a father, but his children have already formed a bond with their stepfather. Eager to reclaim his role, he persuades his ex-wife Kathleen (Millie Perkins) and her new husband (Richard Crenna) to allow him to take the kids on a Mediterranean cruise. As they embark on their adventure, J.P. grapples with the realities of parenting, leading to self-doubt. A sudden tragedy back home ultimately spurs him to embrace his responsibilities, transforming his hopes into action and redefining his relationship with his children.
