The Tartars (1961)

Plot

Tensions simmer between the Tartars and Vikings in the unforgiving Russian Steppe. When Viking chieftain Oleg refuses to join the Tartars in their assault against the Slavs, conflict erupts. Oleg's violent response culminates in the death of the Tartar leader and the abduction of his daughter. Burandai, the fallen leader's brother, retaliates by taking Oleg's wife, Helga, captive. As both sides dig in, the only way to break the deadlock lies in an inevitable showdown on the battlefield, where honor and survival will be fiercely contested.
