Plot

Lurene Hallett, a devoted Dallas housewife, idolizes Jacqueline Kennedy and is shattered by the news of President Kennedy's assassination shortly after his arrival in the city. Ignoring her husband Ray's objections, she embarks on a journey to attend the funeral in Washington, D.C. Traveling by bus, she meets Jonell, the young Black daughter of Paul Couter. Lurene's well-meaning attempts to help lead the trio into a perilous adventure, as they navigate the challenges of a racially charged atmosphere while evading both the police and her searching husband.
