Plot

A pathologist delves into the mysterious link between fear and mortality by studying a deaf-mute woman who cannot scream. He theorizes that an organism, which he dubs The Tingler, resides on the spinal cord and thrives on fear. When individuals experience terror, the Tingler is suppressed, but without that release, it can become lethal.
