Plot

Fifteen-year-old Anne leaves her impoverished Slovak hometown for Prague just before World War I, seeking work as a maid for an affluent family. There, she meets Resi, a noblewoman molded to uphold her family’s status. Their vastly different social backgrounds only deepen their connection, transforming them into lovers and confidantes against a male-dominated society. As their relationship flourishes, Anne and Resi challenge societal norms, finding solace and strength in each other.
