Plot
Dottie Ingels, a single mother and cosmetics seller, longs to pursue her true passion for comedy. When she unexpectedly inherits money, Dottie seizes the opportunity to relocate to New York City with her daughters, Erica and Opel, in hopes of launching her comedic career. Performing at local bars, she quickly gains the attention of agent Arnold Moss, propelling her into the limelight. However, as Dottie’s fame grows and her tours take her across the country, her children are left at home, grappling with loneliness and the challenges of their mother’s newfound success.
