Plot

Alice Mason dreams of having a family of her own, yet her aspirations are threatened when the state labels her "defective" due to her parents’ alcoholism and her siblings' various struggles. A court mandates her sterilization to eliminate the risk of passing on these so-called "defective genes." As the date for the surgery approaches, her boyfriend Jim, along with a compassionate priest, frantically seeks a solution to prevent this irreversible decision and advocate for Alice’s right to choose her own future.
