Plot

A fire erupted at the Qinglou Zuiyue Royal Academy in Chang'an, claiming the life of its top courtesan, Jingyue. Though it seemed a routine tragedy, the case caught the attention of Yang Wenxian, a eunuch of the Shen Ce Army. Pei Jun from the Dali Temple turned to his friend Su Yannan for help in the investigation. As Su dug deeper, he uncovered a far-reaching conspiracy lurking beneath the flames.
