Plot

Madeleine Damian, an art editor entangled in a series of empty romances, finds herself spiraling into despair after a breakup with advertiser Felix Courtland. In a moment of hopelessness, she attempts suicide. Seeking solace, she resigns from her job and retreats into seclusion, but her past swiftly catches up with her. Jack Garet, her former lover and now blackmailer, and Felix Courtland track her down, threatening her newfound peace. Meanwhile, a budding friendship with neighbor David Cousins offers a glimmer of hope amidst the chaos, as Madeleine struggles to reclaim her life.
