The Runner (1984)

Plot

Amiro, a young orphan, navigates life in an abandoned tanker in Abadan, Iran. To get by, he shines shoes, sells water, and collects deposit bottles, often clashing with adults and older children. Despite these challenges, he finds comfort in his dreams of escaping on cargo ships and airplanes. Running becomes his refuge, offering him a sense of freedom and hope amid his struggles. As he races through the streets, the allure of adventure and the possibility of a brighter future drive his spirit.
