Shayda, an Iranian woman seeking safety in Australia, seeks refuge in a women’s shelter with her six-year-old daughter, Mona, after escaping her abusive husband, Hossein. While preparing for the joyous Nowruz celebration, she strives to create a stable environment for Mona amidst her tumultuous circumstances. However, the situation takes a turn when a judge permits Hossein visitation rights, complicating Shayda's efforts to build a new life. As he reappears, Shayda is consumed by anxiety, fearing he will forcefully take Mona back to Iran, jeopardizing their hard-won freedom.
