A poignant narrative unfolds through the eyes of 14-year-old Rutka Laskier, a Polish girl tragically murdered at Auschwitz in 1943. Her diary, discovered in 2005 after being hidden beneath the floorboards for decades, reveals her experiences in the Bedzin ghetto. Often compared to Anne Frank, Rutka candidly shares her struggles with hunger, fear, and the horrors of Nazi oppression while also reflecting on her coming-of-age. The documentary follows her half-sister, Zahava Scherz, an Israeli academic, as she journeys to Poland to uncover the legacy of a sister she never had the chance to know.
