Cold of Kalandar (2016)

Plot

Mehmet resides in a remote village in the Black Sea mountains, where he supports his family through livestock breeding. Driven by a deep desire to discover mineral reserves in the mountains, his ambitions are dismissed as futile by his loved ones. After a series of disappointments, he finds a glimmer of hope in an upcoming bullfight competition in Artvin. However, returning empty-handed from the event leaves him feeling more lost than ever. Through its poignant narrative, the film beautifully explores themes of resilience, the bond between humans and nature, and the challenges of rural life.
