Plot

Adalbert, a highly anxious and controlling single father, sets forth 20 strict rules for his daughter Sylvie as she prepares to leave their quaint town of Ormont-Dessus for university. Determined to ensure her compliance, he covertly travels to Basel to keep an eye on her. However, his plans unravel as he gets drawn into the vibrant party scene, ultimately disregarding the very rules he enforced. The experience challenges both their relationships and reveals the complexities of letting go as Sylvie embraces independence while Adalbert confronts his own fears.
