Plot

Gerben Kooistra, an idealistic liberal from northern Holland, takes on the role of mayor in a quaint southern village, only to find himself at odds with a notorious local criminal known as 'Grandpa' Toontje. As Gerben delves deeper into the town's dark underbelly, he discovers that crime is pervasive, shattering the facade of innocence. What begins as a political endeavor quickly transforms into a perilous obsession, pushing Gerben to confront treacherous challenges and test the limits of his resolve.
