Plot
Set in 18th-century Korea, the story unfolds on July 4, 1762, when Crown Prince Hyojang, later known as Sado, faces treason allegations from his father, King Yeongjo of Joseon. In a desperate attempt to save face, the king demands Sado take his own life. However, loyal supporters intervene, leading to a more brutal punishment: confinement inside a wooden rice chest. There, the prince endures harrowing conditions, deprived of food and water, as political intrigue and familial betrayal unravel around him.
