Man Friday (1975)

Plot

Robinson Crusoe, an isolated Englishman on a deserted island, discovers a companion in Friday, a native islander. Initially thrilled, Crusoe's colonial mindset quickly surfaces, viewing Friday solely as a savage in need of his civilizing influence. Despite Friday's efforts to introduce his rich culture, he realizes that Crusoe's perception of superiority is unshakeable. Frustrated by the one-sided dynamic, Friday embarks on a journey to reclaim his agency and challenge Crusoe's oppressive worldview, ultimately seeking to redefine their relationship and assert his own identity.
