Plot

Detective John Shaft of the NYPD captures Walter Wade Jr. for a racially charged murder. However, the sole witness vanishes, allowing Wade to flee to Switzerland after posting bail. Two years later, Wade reappears, eager to stand trial, certain that his wealth and power will secure his freedom—particularly since he has orchestrated the murder of the witness through a drug lord.
