Plot
Set in 1967, "A Serious Man" follows Larry Gopnik, a physics professor at a tranquil Midwestern university, whose life takes a sudden downturn when his wife, Judith, reveals she is leaving him for Sy Ableman, one of his arrogant colleagues. As Larry grapples with this betrayal, he seeks answers and guidance from various figures in his Jewish community, hoping to make sense of the turmoil engulfing him.
