Plot

Claire Lescot, a renowned singer residing on the fringes of Paris, attracts the affections of numerous suitors, including the wealthy maharajah Djorah de Nopur and the earnest Swedish scientist Einar Norsen. While she revels in the attention during her extravagant soirées, her emotional detachment leads her to cruelly mock her admirers. When news of Norsen's tragic suicide reaches her, Claire remains unphased. However, after facing the wrath of a disillusioned audience during a concert, she resolves to confront her past by visiting Norsen's crypt, seeking a deeper understanding of the consequences of her indifference.
