Plot

Misawa Ihei, a low-ranking samurai, journeys with his wife Tae, who despises the idea of sword fighting for cash. As the daughter of a clan's chief counselor, Tae married Ihei to escape becoming the lord's mistress. Their lives take a tumultuous turn with the arrival of Oba Gunjuro, a enigmatic ronin driven by greed. The story unfolds as Ihei and Tae navigate the tumultuous waters of love and animosity, ultimately facing a dramatic climax that tests their bond as they strive to transcend societal boundaries.
