Plot
In late 19th century Latvia, a young farmhand named Jancis resides on a homestead with his mother and grandparents. His life is confined to the familiar landscape that stretches to the horizon, following the rhythm of the seasons. Each year unfolds in a cycle from winter to spring, summer, and autumn, culminating in St. George's Day—a time when farmhands frequently transition to new farms for work.
