Plot
Vice Lieutenant Eismayer, a highly respected yet feared drill sergeant in the Austrian Military, leads a double life as a closeted gay man. His rigid, macho persona is challenged when he falls for a young soldier who openly embraces his sexuality. This unexpected romance forces Eismayer to confront his own identity and the oppressive norms of military culture, ultimately leading him to reassess his values and the choices he has made.
