Plot

Ella Peterson, an operator at Susanswerphone, spends her days in a basement office, eavesdropping on the lives of her clients. To escape her dull routine, she immerses herself in their stories, taking on various personas. Among her clients are a struggling Method actor, a dentist with dreams of music, and playwright Jeffrey Moss, who is grappling with a creative drought. Ella finds herself particularly drawn to Jeffrey, hoping to inspire him and perhaps find a spark in her own life amidst the tangled web of identities she navigates.
